Cumulative SGST Settlement — FY 2026-27 (Apr-Jun)

On a year-to-date basis (April to June 2026), post-settlement SGST collections across all states and UTs stood at ₹2,93,926 crore, up 18% compared to ₹2,48,347 crore in the same period last fiscal year — a notably stronger growth rate than the monthly post-settlement figure, indicating states are steadily gaining a larger share through IGST settlement over the quarter.

Centre vs State Formation-wise Domestic Collections (Apr-Jun 2026)

GST domestic collections are also tracked by which tax administration — Central or State — the registered taxpayer falls under. For the period April to June 2026:

  • Total registered GSTINs (as on 30 June 2026): approximately 71.3 lakh under Central formations and 95.8 lakh under State formations.
  • Collection by Central Formations: ₹2,13,423 crore (CGST + SGST + IGST combined)
  • Collection by State Formations: ₹2,41,004 crore (CGST + SGST + IGST combined)

Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat had the highest number of registered GSTINs under state formations, consistent with their leading position in overall GST revenue.

Why State-wise GST Data Matters

  • For state governments: Post-settlement SGST is the real indicator of a state's GST revenue health, since it includes the state's share of IGST on inter-state trade.
  • For businesses: States showing strong post-settlement growth (like Gujarat at 27% and Andhra Pradesh at 21%) may see increased compliance monitoring as tax administrations track revenue trends closely.
  • For compliance planning: Tracking whether your GSTIN falls under Central or State jurisdiction helps anticipate which authority is more likely to raise scrutiny or issue notices.
